Acceptable Use Policy

1. Allowed use

Rainproxy is designed for lawful, ethical web data collection: SEO and SERP monitoring, price intelligence, brand protection, ad verification, market research, cybersecurity research, AI training on lawfully accessible public data, and similar business intelligence workloads.

2. Strictly prohibited

• Unauthorised access to computer systems (e.g. NL "computervredebreuk" art. 138ab Sr; UK Computer Misuse Act 1990; US CFAA 18 U.S.C. § 1030; equivalents elsewhere).
• Credential stuffing, brute-force attacks, account takeover.
• Bypassing technical protection measures in violation of the EU Copyright Directive, the US DMCA §1201, or local copyright law.
• Scraping behind authentication walls without explicit permission.
• Distribution of malware, phishing, command-and-control traffic.
• DDoS, port scanning, network reconnaissance against third-party assets.
• Child sexual abuse material (CSAM), terrorist content (TCO Regulation 2021/784, UK Online Safety Act, US 18 U.S.C. § 2258A reporting), or any content illegal in the user's or target's jurisdiction.
• Targeted harassment, doxing, or processing of personal data without a lawful basis under applicable privacy law (GDPR, CCPA, LGPD, PIPEDA, Australian Privacy Act, etc.).
• Sanctions-violating activity (EU, UN, UK OFSI, US OFAC). We do not provide services to sanctioned persons or to embargoed territories.
• Spam, SMS pumping, fraudulent ad clicks, sneaker-bot use violating retailer ToS where prohibited locally.

3. KYC and KYB

For traffic volumes above pre-set thresholds, or for sensitive verticals (e.g. finance, telecom, government), we require business verification documents (company registration extract, tax ID, beneficial-owner declaration) in line with our global AML/KYB risk policy (informed by EU AMLD, the UK MLR 2017, the US Bank Secrecy Act, and FATF recommendations).

4. Residential peers

Residential IPs are sourced from paid, opt-in peers worldwide who consent through partner applications and may revoke at any time. Misuse — including processing peer traffic outside its declared scope — results in immediate account termination and, where applicable, notification to the relevant data-protection authority (e.g. AP in the Netherlands, ICO in the UK, CPPA in California, ANPD in Brazil).

5. Reporting abuse

Report abuse to abuse@rainproxy.io. Verified reports are acted on within 24 hours. Trusted flaggers under DSA art. 22 receive priority handling. Law-enforcement and government requests should be sent to legal@rainproxy.io; we comply with valid orders from competent authorities and respond to MLAT, EU e-Evidence and equivalent cross-border requests where legally binding on us.

6. Enforcement

Violations may lead to traffic throttling, account suspension, termination without refund, and — where required by law — referral to the relevant national authority (e.g. Politie / Openbaar Ministerie in the Netherlands, NCA in the UK, FBI in the US) or supervisory data-protection authority.
