Which websites work with IPv6 proxies in 2026? We checked 130
Rainproxy Research · 3 October 2026 · by the Rainproxy Research team
IPv6 proxies are the cheapest way to get a huge number of IPs. The catch is simple: an IPv6 proxy can only reach a website that has an IPv6 address. If the site only speaks IPv4, your request has nowhere to go.
So before you buy IPv6 proxies for a project, the first question is: does my target even support IPv6? We checked 130 of the most-used websites to find out.
The short answer: less than half
Only 60 of 130 websites (46%) publish an IPv6 address. For the other 70, IPv6 proxies simply won't connect, no matter how many IPs you have.
The picture changes a lot by category. Tech companies have largely moved to IPv6 (83%), and so have search engines and AI tools (75%). Online shopping is far behind (24%), and none of the real-estate and job sites we checked support it at all.

What this means for your project
- Check your target first. If the site isn't in the "works" column, use residential, ISP or datacenter (IPv4) proxies instead.
- IPv6 shines on the sites that support it. Amazon, Google, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube all accept IPv6, and IPv6 proxies give you an enormous number of addresses at the lowest price.
- Mixing is normal. Many teams run IPv6 for the sites that support it and residential proxies for the rest.
- An IPv6 address doesn't guarantee success. A site can accept IPv6 and still rate-limit it. Test with a small plan before scaling.
How we checked
- What we tested: whether each website publishes an IPv6 address (an AAAA DNS record) on its main domain or its www. version. A site without one can't be reached over IPv6.
- Which sites: 130 widely used websites across 12 categories, chosen because they are common proxy targets.
- When: 3 October 2026, using a public DNS resolver. Websites change their setup over time; we'll re-run this list every quarter.
- Anyone can repeat it: run a DNS lookup for the AAAA record of any domain.
Try it yourself
Our IPv6 proxies give you unlimited traffic on a dedicated port, from $0.50 for a day. For sites that only speak IPv4, our residential and ISP proxies cover the rest.
