The offer
Black Friday 2022 brought our largest discounts of the year across residential, ISP and datacenter plans. Existing customers topped up bandwidth at the reduced rate, and new customers started on a bigger plan than they'd normally test with.
Why the timing mattered
Black Friday and Cyber Monday are the busiest week of the year for the work our customers do: price tracking across thousands of SKUs, stock monitoring, ad verification while budgets peak, and release monitoring on the drops that only happen in November. Bandwidth use for a typical retail-focused account roughly triples in that window.
Buying before the week — rather than during it — meant nobody had to interrupt a live monitoring job to top up.
What we recommended then, and still do
- Estimate peak bandwidth from your busiest normal day and multiply by three
- Move any datacenter-tolerant job off residential before the rush
- Set sticky sessions for checkout flows in advance and test them cold
- Warm up accounts on their exclusive IPs at least a week early
