If every request leaves from one country and one network, your "global" market snapshot is really a snapshot of what that one connection is shown. Prices, assortments, promotions and even review ordering change by location. Collecting from a single vantage point produces confident numbers that describe nothing.

What to require from a pool

Country and city coverage where your customers actually are, not just the five markets every provider advertises.

Residential IPs for consumer-facing sites, because that's the audience you're trying to imitate.

Sticky sessions long enough for multi-step flows — search, filter, product page, shipping estimate — so the site keeps showing you the same market.

Consistent locale signals. An IP in Milan paired with an en-US browser and a UTC timezone gets a mixed experience and dirty data.

Sampling design matters more than volume

Decide up front how many observations per market, at what times of day, and how often. Retailers run flash pricing; a once-a-day pull from one timezone will miss it entirely. Randomise collection windows and record the exit country with every row so you can audit the dataset later.

Keep the collection ethical and boring

Public pages only, reasonable request rates, respect for robots.txt, no login walls. Research data that came from an aggressive scrape is a liability the moment a client asks where it's from.

Practical setup

Residential rotating IPs for breadth, a handful of exclusive ISP addresses for any dashboards or partner portals you have legitimate access to, and per-market workers pinned to their own sticky sessions. Log the IP, timestamp and market on every request — when a number looks strange, that log is what tells you whether it's a real signal or a proxy that drifted to the wrong country.
