Get Started With Rainproxy: Full Guide
From sign-up to your first successful request: choosing a plan, generating credentials, targeting a country and testing the connection.

1. Pick the right plan
Match the product to the job rather than the price:
- Residential Smart — general scraping and monitoring on a budget
- Exclusive Residential — cleaner pool for tougher consumer sites
- Premium Residential — the widest pool and highest success rates
- ISP — static, fast, for accounts and checkouts
- Datacenter — volume work on targets that don't check
- Mobile — carrier IPs for the strictest platforms
If you're unsure, start small. Every plan uses the same dashboard, so switching later costs nothing but a credential change.
2. Create your credentials
In the dashboard, generate a proxy user. You'll get a hostname, a port, a username and a password. You can create separate sub-users per project so bandwidth is accounted for separately and one job can't spend another's quota.
3. Choose targeting and session type
Targeting and rotation are set through the username string — country, city or state, plus an optional session ID and lifetime. Include a session ID when you need the same exit for several requests; leave it out to rotate on every call.
4. Test the connection
curl -x http://USER:PASS@ENDPOINT:PORT https://api.ipify.org?format=json
You should see an address that isn't yours, in the country you asked for. If you don't, check the credentials first — that's the cause the overwhelming majority of the time.
5. Plug it into your tools
Most scrapers, antidetect browsers and automation frameworks accept a standard
http://user:pass@host:port string. For browser profiles, set the proxy per
profile rather than system-wide so each identity stays separate.
6. Watch your usage
The dashboard shows bandwidth in near real time. Two habits keep the bill sensible: block images and fonts in headless browsers, and route anything that doesn't need residential trust to a cheaper pool.
Getting help
Support is available in the dashboard. Sending the endpoint, the exact error and a timestamp usually gets a real answer on the first reply.
